Manam: Comfort Filipino! To be honest, it was our first time to dine here because we don't really have lots of free time to stroll around Greenbelt to look for a place where to eat. My friends and I always ended up eating at fast food chains since we want a fast and budget friendly food.
When we stayed for a little while in Greenbelt 5, Bianca and I don't really have an idea on where to eat and both of us are really game to go eat anywhere. We searched for the affordable restaurants around Makati, we narrowed our choices from 5 to 3, then, we chose Manam (and that's the story behind it)
When we arrived the place it was lunch time and there were only a few people eating. When we're just ordering, the amount of people who wants to dine keeps on entering the said restaurant. We really loved the ambiance because it feels so cozy and so feel at home as well, which is a plus.
While ordering, we were surprised to see how affordable their food is. The photo above is actually the cover page of their menu.
The calm before the storm. This was taken before people kept entering the restaurant. I told you, how lovely this place is!!! We were comfortably seated on the couch which also helped us relax even more.
We ended up ordering 3 viands and a bowl of rice. We ordered small sizes of the Caramelized Wings in Patis and Crispy Pork Sisig. A medium-sized bowl of rice because hell, we were so hungry from all the things we did.
We ordered a Garlic rice which is good for 3 persons... why not??? The rice tastes yummy, even without the viand. I swear, we tried it.
Caramelized Wings in Patis. When I ordered this, I was kind of hesitant because knowing how Patis tastes like, I'm afraid that it would taste kind of salty. Surprisingly, it didn't even taste like Patis at all. It's like the taste of caramel "over powered" the taste of the Patis. We give this viand a hands down. Oh, this small sized viand composts of 4 pieces of wings.
I was craving for Crunchy Pork Sisig while doing this write up, and damn, the odds weren't really helping me to get over this crazy craving. Anyway, this is a small-sized order of the Sisig as well. Tell you this, this isn't the same Sisig as the ones from food chains because their Sisig doesn't have too much fats in it and it's really tasty , and crunchy (of course!) It didn't seem like it's a small-sized serving because we weren't able to eat all of it.
Last, but not the least... Sinigang na Baboy sa Sampaloc! We prefer sour Sinigang because that's how the taste should be. When we first tasted it, I was so happy because the sourness level of the Sinigang is just enough, but I don't know with my friend who doesn't find it sour at all.
I was supposed to include the photo of our friend here, but we look very haggard, so I'm not gonna be posting it at all. Thank you so much for reading my first blog post. I hope that you'll continue reading my upcoming posts. I also hope that you'll try eating in Manam because you get what you pay for, n short, it's really worth it.
